KCFC Model Workshop

Kansas City Fashion Council is hosting Kansas City Fashion Week, LLC model workshop on May 18th at Oak Park Mall! This workshop will prepare models for Kansas City Fashion Week’s upcoming model castings. KCFC's Director of Model Development, Noelle Manica, will be working one-on-one with models to coach on runway techniques. 

Space is limited. Casting Attire requested: Black tank, jeans & heels (no wedges or boots) for ladies; fitted black tee, jeans & dress shoes (no rubber soles) for gentlemen.

This is a free educational and networking event hosted by Kansas City Fashion Council.

Sew Social: Intro to a Handmade Wardrobe

Have you always wanted to learn how to sew or brush up on your technique? Join us for an inspiring weekend of creation with two of the biggest bloggers in sewing, Katie Lee of Sew Altered Style, and Leslie Marshall of Thread Bear Garments as they guide you through the entire construction process including a fun fit session on Friday evening. This event is perfect for individuals or a group of girlfriends looking for a rewarding retreat. We will be making your choice of the Lane Raglan Hoodie, Blackwood Cardigan, or Ogden Cami.

Event Details:

Saturday, November 3rd 8:30am- Join us for a day of sewing as we guide you through the construction of your garment. Starting off with a champagne fitting, you will sip mimosas while we take your measurements. Then once you've selected your pattern and fabric, we will take you through sewing instruction and assist you with the construction of your selected garment. Each individual will leave with a completed garment! Please wear comfortable but form-fitting clothing, like yoga pants, so we can take accurate measurements to ensure your garments will fit properly.

Your ticket includes fit session, pattern, fabric, 8 hours of sewing instruction, food & beverage, and a lot of fun!

Fashion Week Helping Fashion Week


Today we announce Fashion Week Helping Fashion Week. Hurricane Relief to support a fashion community that needs our support. Despite some models and committee members losing their homes and floodwaters still receding in the region many volunteers around the Charlotte area are stepping in to ensure a successful week for Charlotte artists and designers to show their collections.

From today through the end of Kansas City Fashion Week on 9/29 we will be collecting donations to assist the fashion community in The Carolinas. You can donate via our Facebook page, or at one of the booths stationed at KCFW events throughout the week.
